August Update

Tomatoes have arrived

Finally, one of the best times of the year in the fresh vegetable world has arrived: field-grown, vine-ripened tomatoes are here! Is there anything better in summer? Nothing beats a dinner of sweet corn and BLTs!
It’s also time to start thinking about canning your salsas, sauces, and anything else tomato-related. Bulk tomato boxes will be available starting next week, and the supply will only grow as the month goes on. Don’t forget—we also have green peppers, jalapeños, and red and yellow onions to round out your recipes.
Tomato varieties include Roma, red round, and yellow round. We’re also hopeful for a few heirloom varieties later in the season.
The market tables are absolutely bursting, so be sure to stop by one of our many locations! Right now, we’ve got:
Sweet corn, green beans, cucumbers, zucchini, broccoli, cabbage, and cauliflower—so much Wisconsin goodness!
The cantaloupes are coming along nicely, too— they just need a little more time.
