Getting towards the endWhen summer slips into fall: in vegetable farming, the time after Labor Day is considered the downhill run. There is a clash of seasons, in both the weather and the fruits and vegetables still being harvested. For example, Roma tomatoes are finished, this will be our last week with green beans, the cantaloupe will be gone soon. But the fall squash has made an appearance and the broccoli and cauliflower should come back strong. It is the time of season that if you haven’t preserved any food - you may want to soon! Sweet corn will be here until the end of September, July 2021 seems a long way off to enjoy that summer delight. There is still an abundance of Wisconsin goodness to be had, but as we all know the days are getting shorter. BEEF - it’s what for dinner. Our supplies will remain strong through the fall.
