Fresh From the FieldsThe growing season is gaining momentum here at Green Barn Farm Market, and we're excited to see more crops reaching harvest each week. What began as freshly planted fields this spring is quickly transforming into a season full of fresh produce, beautiful blooms, and the flavors of summer.
Right now, we're harvesting asparagus, strawberries, spinach, arugula, and our gourmet lettuce mix. These early-season favorites are a welcome sign that summer is finally arriving, and there's nothing quite like enjoying produce picked fresh from the farm. The weeks ahead will bring even more to look forward to. Broccoli is expected to be ready in about a week, while sugar snap peas should begin harvesting shortly after, approximately a week and a half from now. We're also anticipating the arrival of our calla lilies in the coming weeks, with blooms expected to be available in roughly two weeks. As always, Mother Nature has the final say, but the crops are looking great and we're excited for what's ahead. One of the most rewarding parts of farming is watching the season unfold. Every week brings something new from the fields, and June is often the month when that transformation becomes most noticeable. From the first strawberries of the year to the upcoming harvests still growing in the fields, there's plenty to be excited about. We invite you to stop by, enjoy what's currently in season, and follow along as more fresh produce and flowers become available throughout the month. Thank you for supporting local agriculture and our family farm—we look forward to sharing another harvest season with you.
