Fall has arrivedAs we transition into fall, so do our vegetables. While we say goodbye to summer favorites like sweet corn and green beans, we're now treated to delicious red bell peppers, hearty spinach, and sweet squash.
At the time of this update, we have yet to experience a killing frost, so we're still harvesting vine-ripened tomatoes and bell peppers from the field. Broccoli, cauliflower, and cabbage thrive in this cooler weather, so you can expect plenty of those throughout October. In early September, we planted spinach, mixed lettuce, and arugula, and we're excited to offer a fresh salad bar at the local farmers market. Be sure to check it out! The Green Bay and Fond du Lac farmers markets have just two Saturdays left, while the Dane County Farmers Market will run for four more Saturdays and Wednesdays. We still have plenty of beautiful, nutritious, and delicious vegetables available, along with a great supply of Black Angus beef. Be sure to stock up at the markets—because who wants to settle for grocery store vegetables? Thank you for your continued support throughout the season. Let’s finish strong!
