The end of this seasons asparagusDespite the crazy weather, things on the farm are looking good. We have started the beloved shelled sweet pea season as the asparagus winds down. Don’t wait too long for asparagus as we are only expecting it for about another week. We saw the first broccoli of the season; spinach, spring mix lettuce and arugula continue to be fresh and delicious. We tied the first cauliflower and the sweet corn is starting to tassel. The field grown tomatoes are staked and little green tomatoes are abundant. Mother Nature keeps marching along and we just try to keep up with her! Our freezer will be full of Black Angus meat this weekend. Super great quality meat at reasonable prices - be sure to check it out. We raise our cattle from birth and also raise all the feed that they eat - taste the difference! The most exciting information in this post is the fact that the Dane County Farmers is once again back on the state capital square on Saturday and at the 200 block of MLK Jr. Blvd on Wednesday. It is so wonderful to see all of your faces and feel your excitement of having in person markets once again! From the bottom of our heart THANK YOU for supporting us through the online ordering season last year. Survival was paramount and you not only helped us achieve that, you helped us flourish. Happy Summer; stay healthy, happy and eat your veggies! GREEN BARN FARM MARKET Feel free to leave a comment below, or contact us with any questions!
